دبس الرمّان – a thick syrup made from pomegranate juice and is easy to make at home if you have the right type of pomegranate (deep red color and sour). I usually hear that it is tricky for many people and they don’t find many uses for it, but I love this stuff and I put it on everything like Fattoush, Muhammara, Makmour (a type of stuffed zucchinis) and lots more.
To make at home, simmer 2 liters fresh pomegranate juice with ¼ cup sugar (optional, but very common) and 1 tbsp. of lemon, then reduce to almost 0.4 liters. You get a tangy delicious syrup that adds a depth of flavor to everything!
